About The Role
The Junior Project Engineer - Remote position is a vital part of our development team, supporting the evaluation, approval, and permitting processes for new development and construction projects. The role involves coordinating due diligence activities, managing consultant deliverables, and assisting with permitting and compliance to facilitate smooth project progression into construction phases. Working closely with senior management, external consultants, and regulatory agencies, the Junior Project Engineer ensures that all project milestones are achieved within designated timelines and budget constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Internship or entry-level experience in civil engineering, land development, construction, or project coordination (a plus)
- Knowledge of site investigation, environmental assessments, and permitting processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management or design software is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking capabilities
Responsibilities
- Cook up with external consulting teams to initiate and manage due diligence activities such as site investigations, environmental assessments, and surveys
- Schedule site visits with consultants, property owners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contractual timelines
- Ensure all necessary documentation, including Certificates of Insurance and access permissions, are obtained prior to investigations
- Track and manage due diligence timelines, ensuring timely receipt and review of reports
- Analyze due diligence findings, identifying potential risks or project constraints, and communicate these to senior management and stakeholders
- Prepare closing checklists and documentation at the conclusion of due diligence periods for internal review
- Aid in preparing and submitting documentation required for permits and approvals from regulatory agencies
- Cook up with external consultants and authorities to secure project permits and approvals, including development agreements and bond postings
- Maintain organized records of all permit-related documentation, milestones, and correspondence
- Provide regular project updates to internal teams and escalate issues impacting project timelines or compliance
- Support the development team in ensuring all project activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations
