Project Engineer Internship- Heavy Civil

About the Role

Project Engineer Internship in the Heavy Civil Division in Lubbock, TX. The selected intern will receive training from experienced Corporate Project Engineers in fields such as Heavy Civil, Bridges, and Piling and Shoring. Both field and office experience are offered depending on the project. The internship is designed to evaluate the candidate's potential as a possible future full-time employee. Each intern will be assigned a mentor to help develop both technical and professional skills.

Schedule

• Summer 2027 (May – August)
• Monday – Friday, 7:00AM to 5:30PM (working hours could be different)
• Possible nighttime operations, depending on project
• Possible part-time work during fall/winter semester (while attending school)

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Superintendents
• Assist in public relations, claims, subcontractor back charges, and force account work
• Process all documents required to start-up project as outlined in project checklist
• Update and maintain C.P.M. under direction of P.M.
• Monthly schedule distribution to field and subcontractors
• Schedule survey and inspections for field operations
• Update and maintain as-Built drawings if required
• Track quantities to ensure accurate payment by Owner
• Manage Blue Stakes
• Manage change order correspondence and tracking

Requirements

• Junior or Senior (highly preferred)
• Minimum GPA 2.75
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
• Past construction work experience is preferred
