Project Engineer Intern - Industrial

About the role

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Engineer Intern. This position is available in 2027 as a summer internship running from May‑August, or a Spring Co‑op running from January‑August, or a Fall Co‑op running from May‑December.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.
• Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
• Develop a first‑hand understanding of job‑site coordination, scheduling, quality control, and safety.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or a closely related field.
• Within 18 months of graduating.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for at least a three‑month term.
• Eligible to work in the United States (verification of employment required).

Skills

• General knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and understand contracts, specifications, and architectural and engineering drawings.
• Clear oral and written communication.

Pay

The hourly base pay range is $20‑$25 per hour. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or incentive programs.
