About the role
The Project Engineer - Industrial Construction role within Toyota's Plant Engineering (PLE) Department is responsible for managing construction projects at North American production plants. The position supports the PLE Department's goal to provide project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects meet quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Develop criteria for the design of buildings
- Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing plants in building design and construction
- Mentor engineers, construction coordinators, and other project personnel to increase their skillset in industrial construction
- Create customer satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with the customer to support their needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering related discipline
- Experience in building design and construction
- Experience in industrial buildings and building related systems
- Leadership, mentorship, or management experience
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work up to 20% overtime when required
- Ability to travel up to 75% (based on project need) when required (US, Canada, and Mexico)
- This position requires driving - must have a motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards
Qualifications
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or Registered Architect (RA)
- Experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.)
- Experience in project management of industrial construction projects with a value of $20M+
- Experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher)
- Experience in industrial structural steel systems
- Experience in large-scale civil installations
- AutoCAD experience (reviewing drawings and minimal editing)
Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
