About the role

The Project Engineer III provides pharmaceutical engineering expertise primarily in facility engineering. This position manages large-scale projects and multi-disciplinary project teams, offering technical direction for complex projects and demonstrating superior communication skills at all employee levels. Recognized as an authority in multiple areas of facility pharmaceutical engineering, this role provides leadership and guidance to others.

Responsibilities include technical support for engineering facility projects such as facility and utility expansion, compliance upgrades, cost reduction, contract manufacturing, process improvements, and construction projects. The role requires expertise in the design, modification, and troubleshooting of pharmaceutical systems, including HVAC, clean steam, WFI, electrical, and knowledge of pharmaceutical construction methods.

This position ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulatory agencies and autonomously manages major capital and expense facility projects in compliance with the "Project Management Guidelines" system, covering scheduling, budgeting, meeting management, teamwork, communication, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for facility and utility expansion, compliance upgrades, cost reduction, contract manufacturing, process improvements, and construction projects.
  • Design, modify, and troubleshoot pharmaceutical systems (HVAC, clean steam, WFI, electrical) and apply knowledge of pharmaceutical construction methods.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for facilities and processes (local, state, federal, and international agencies).
  • Manage major capital and expense facility projects autonomously, adhering to "Project Management Guidelines" for scheduling, budgeting, meeting management, teamwork, communication, and documentation.
  • Develop detailed specifications and RFQs for A&E firms, contractors, or equipment manufacturers.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation required by regulatory agencies and in compliance with engineering guidelines, SOPs, or quality standards.
  • Contribute to short-term and long-term company objectives as defined by upper management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or a similar engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of project management and/or project engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical facility/systems.

Working Environment

  • Work in classified/aseptic areas.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Potential exposure to allergens.
  • Extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.

Location: Spokane, WA — On-site, full-time, weekday days shift.

Pay

Hiring wage: $103,050 – $164,900 + 10% annual bonus, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
