Project Engineer II - Generation Projects
About the role
We are looking for a Project Engineer II professional to support a diverse portfolio of generation projects across Colorado. Reporting to the Engineering & Construction team, you will manage projects supporting natural gas, coal-fired, wind, and hydroelectric generation facilities. You will lead projects through the full project lifecycle. This includes planning, design, execution, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage capital and operational projects from initiation through closeout.
- Develop project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Cookordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Provide project status updates, spending forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Sources and coordinates contractors and vendors to support project execution.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety requirements, project specifications, and company standards.
- Oversee project-related safety activities, including lockout/tagout processes and job-site safety compliance.
- Participate in plant and project meetings, including Plan of Day (POD) meetings.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to support project goals.
- Track project risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve project-related issues.
- Use project management and work management systems to support project execution and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 3+ years of experience managing projects in industrial, manufacturing, utility, or energy environments

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $65.00/hour to $70.00/hour.
