Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers supporting aircraft instrumentation and test activities, including ground and flight test operations.
- Oversee the design and integration of instrumentation systems for test aircraft, ensuring compliance with program requirements and industry standards.
- Develop, review, and approve engineering documentation, including special instructions, test procedures, and modification drawings.
- Coverage of coordination across internal teams (systems, hardware, software, test, and manufacturing engineering) to support the execution of project milestones.
- Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for test activities, collaborating closely with program management, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Track project progress, resolve technical issues, and manage risk throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Ensure all engineering work aligns with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support configuration management and change control processes for all test-related deliverables.
- Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and readiness assessments for ground and flight test phases.
- Provide technical input for resource planning, schedule development, and cost estimation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years' experience in engineering roles with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or a similar high-reliability engineering environment.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
- Detailed understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
- Prior experience leading or managing engineering teams supporting aircraft modification and/or test programs.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation design, test planning, and execution for ground and flight test activities.
- Working knowledge of systems engineering processes, configuration management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FAA, DoD standards).
- Active Secret or higher U.S. Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Occasional travel to customer or field locations may be required.
- Ability to work primarily in an office or hybrid environment.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Hand and finger dexterity for computer use.
- Capability to work in potentially hazardous environments when visiting project sites.

Annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
