Project Engineer II
Job Summary
The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.
What You Will Do
- Leads the engineering execution for a small project (5-7 resources), multiple smaller projects, or a specific scope of a larger project including the design, development, analysis, documentation and testing support of products, systems, or subsystems
- Ensures the project delivers the required customer/internal features and quality on time and on budget
- Proactively manages cross-functional interdependencies to maximize team efficiency and avoid gaps/delays in program execution
- Identifies, evaluates, mitigates, and manages project technical risk
- Communicates effectively with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and the customer
- Applies critical thinking and facilitates issue resolution with a cross-functional project team
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field + at least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Established project management skills
- Domain knowledge and expertise in at least one engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, software, systems, or test)
- Detailed, organized, and able to multitask
- Able to plan, document, market, and execute projects
U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
