Candidate will be responsible for
- Engineering material handling systems
- Custom designed per client based on optimal solution
- Team effort involving mechanical, electrical, industrial, controls, software, and project management
- Develops and implements design concepts meeting safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense requirements
- Designs and enhances conveyor systems and various automated and semi-automated material handling systems
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements
- Coordinates technical developments, schedules, and resolves engineering design and test problems
- Creates approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
- Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
- Maintains project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
- Collaborates with other disciplines on the project team to ensure engineered solutions fit within system confines and constraints
- Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
- Participates in continuous improvement projects
- Solves engineering issues through collaboration with customers, vendors, and team members
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of material handling related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency
- Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Ability to handle intermediate size project assignments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions
- Effective communication skills, including verbal and written communication
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Able to learn new technology
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English language
