Project Engineer II

Candidate will be responsible for

• Engineering material handling systems
• Custom designed per client based on optimal solution
• Team effort involving mechanical, electrical, industrial, controls, software, and project management
• Develops and implements design concepts meeting safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense requirements
• Designs and enhances conveyor systems and various automated and semi-automated material handling systems
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements
• Coordinates technical developments, schedules, and resolves engineering design and test problems
• Creates approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
• Maintains project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
• Collaborates with other disciplines on the project team to ensure engineered solutions fit within system confines and constraints
• Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
• Participates in continuous improvement projects
• Solves engineering issues through collaboration with customers, vendors, and team members

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of material handling related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

• AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency
• Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
• Ability to handle intermediate size project assignments with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions
• Effective communication skills, including verbal and written communication
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Able to learn new technology
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English language
