Samet Corporation · Greensboro, GA · 1 wk ago
On-siteEngineeringFull-time

About the role

This is an evergreen talent-pipeline posting open across all six Samet offices — not a specific, currently open position. Great careers rarely start with perfect timing. That’s why we like to meet strong Project Engineers and Coordinators before a seat opens up. Applying here puts you on our radar across all six Samet offices—so when the right opportunity fits, whether that’s now or a few months down the road, we already know you and you already know us. No perfect timing required; we’d just love to start the conversation.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project operations, coordination, and documentation.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, milestones, and quality benchmarks, and report on progress.
  • Maintain project documentation — RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, contracts, and logs.
  • Help manage communication with subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and serve as a point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Capture and document meetings and site visits, and distribute updates and status reports.
  • Acquire construction-related permits, file and post required notices, and support regulatory compliance.
  • Aid with subcontractor solicitation, procurement, and contracting, and facilitate material and equipment deliveries.
  • Monitor budgets, identify discrepancies, and help implement cost controls.
  • Learn, master, and apply Samet’s systems, processes, and software (Procore, Bluebeam) to support project delivery.
  • Support quality control and safety compliance initiatives across the project.
  • Identify potential issues or delays and escalate to the Project Manager.
  • Mentor and support junior team members (Project Engineer II) and keep project files organized and current.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  • Construction experience appropriate to the level (see Levels & Experience above) — internship experience counts for entry roles.
  • Familiarity with construction and project management software (Procore, Bluebeam) and scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project) a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, terminology, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
  • A detail-oriented, team-first mindset and an eagerness to learn and grow.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical Demands: A primarily office-based role with frequent, recurring visits to active construction sites. Regularly required to sit, walk (including on rough or uneven surfaces), use hands and fingers to handle equipment and files, reach, drive, bend, talk, see, and hear; occasionally required to stand, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, crouch, or twist, and infrequently to crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Work Environment: An office environment with frequent, recurring visits to active construction sites, where noise and light levels may be higher and proper PPE is required. Temperature varies by location and season. Frequent travel is required.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, with the ability to learn industry-standard construction software such as Procore and Bluebeam. Able to collaborate via Zoom or Teams and type professional correspondence.
  • Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to comprehend and execute detailed written and oral instructions using common-sense reasoning, and to navigate problems involving concrete variables in conventional situations.
  • Certificates and Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.
