Project Engineer I - BLUvera

Summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I to join their team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact with various staff, remain flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan
• Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses
• Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents
• Incorporate processes and procedures for project closeout phase
• Manage testing and inspection processes for construction quality management
• Establish handling procedures for electronic documents (RFIs, correspondence)
• Coordinate subcontractor details: verify insurance, prepare paperwork, request final payment
• Define and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documents
• Communicate submittal process details to subcontractors and suppliers
• Issue submittal requirement letters
• Notify Project Manager and Superintendent of non-conforming test results or inspection items
• Expedite submittals to align with project schedule
• Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
• Manage testing and inspection processes for construction quality management
• Establish reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and off-site testing procedures
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members
• Maintain schedule of timelines and ensure completion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management
• Minimum of two years related construction experience
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Prominent positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
• Current driver’s license

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $84,100 - $113,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.

Schedule

This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
