About the role
The Project Engineer I (Mechanical) supports the design, detailing, and implementation of mechanical systems used in material handling and automation environments. This position is responsible for producing design documentation, supporting engineering integration tasks, and assisting with prototype validation.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain mechanical design deliverables, including 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation
- Aid in the mechanical integration of conveyors, sorters, and related automation systems into customer layouts
- Apply mechanical engineering principles such as statics, dynamics, and tolerance analysis under supervision
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of mechanical assemblies and systems
- Participate in equipment installation support, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Collaborate effectively with controls, electrical, and software engineering teams to support system functionality
Requirements
- Obtained a bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Gained 0–2 years of mechanical design or system-level engineering experience (internship/co-op acceptable)
- Experience with automation, material handling systems, or capital equipment preferred
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, including statics, dynamics, materials, and manufacturing methods
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to apply engineering judgment in a project-based, fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in office, shop, and warehouse environments with occasional exposure to noise, confined spaces, and temperature changes
Qualifications
- Eligible applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Schedule
This full-time, exempt position offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office.
