About the role
This role is under the direction of the Engineering Manager and is responsible for engineering support to all Divisions and Departments of the Ohio region. The Project Engineer designs and manages assigned projects within Ohio, including the repair or replacement of tanks, booster stations, lift stations, water treatment plant (WTP) projects, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) projects, and regulating vaults.
Responsibilities
- Plan for assigned divisions/systems.
- Coordinate monthly capital meetings with operational personnel.
- Track capital and report to senior management on assigned projects.
- Drive and coordinate the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems.
- Utilize PowerPlant and SAP for assigned projects.
- Submit any required permits and approvals.
- Obtain necessary easements for assigned projects.
- Manage projects through the entire lifecycle: selection, planning (including permitting), construction, and close-out activities.
- Approve pay applications and process invoices.
- Complete all necessary paperwork for accounting to close the project.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
- Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) certification; or ability to achieve within 12 months of hire.
- Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio (preferred).
- Two or more years of experience in water and wastewater (preferred).
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
- Knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, and WEC Standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings.
- Strong communication skills through plan sets.
