Project Engineer I
About the role
Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, seeks a Project Engineer to support engineering needs within the Ohio region. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for various projects including tank repairs, booster station replacements, lift station upgrades, and more.
Responsibilities
- Planning and coordination of monthly capital meetings with operational personnel
- Tracking and reporting capital projects to senior management
- Developing and managing the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems
- Utilizing PowerPlant and SAP for project management
- Submittal of required permits and approvals
- Obtaining necessary easements for projects
- Ensuring project completion from selection to closeout
- Reviewing and approving pay applications and processing invoices
- Completing necessary paperwork for project closure
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio (preferred)
- At least two years of experience in water and wastewater systems
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects
- Knowledge of ten states standards, AWWA standards, and WEC standards
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This role is full-time and requires a regular work schedule.
