About the role
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, offering innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. It provides end-to-end C4ISR capabilities from design to logistics support. SNC is applying its 60 years of aerospace and defense industry expertise to the USAF's Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) mission.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide technical support to project teams and interface with external customers or field-based employees as needed.
- Provide technical guidance to the team and subcontractors regarding EWIS design and certification requirements.
- Perform design and document reviews.
- Lead or support technical working groups and trade studies.
- Prepare and distribute regular status reports on project progress.
- Identify and document potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation plans.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and meeting minutes.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years' experience in engineering roles. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team.
- Broad experience in the development, design, test, and certification of original Type Designs (TC) or Supplemental Type Designs (STC).
- Able to effectively and clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements and solutions.
- Extensive relevant experience may substitute for relevant education.
- Strong background in EWIS design and for large transport category aircraft (14 CFR, Part 25).
- Familiar with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g. 3DExperience, Enovia SmarTeam, Teamcenter).
- Familiar with logical and harness design CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, ECAD, Capital Logic, HarnessXC, Zuken).
- Experienced with Model Based Design (MBD) methods and principles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years relevant leadership and/or project management experience.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers.
- Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternatives.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedures.
- Prior technical leadership experience.
- CAMEO experience.
- Experience showing compliance to FAA regulations.
Essential Functions
- Occasional travel to customer or field locations may be required.
- Ability to work primarily in an office or hybrid environment.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Hand and finger dexterity for computer use.
- Capability to work in potentially hazardous environments when visiting project sites.
