Project Engineer (Hull)

About the role

Aid the Project Engineering Manager in overseeing engineering tasks such as deliverables, man-hours, and schedules, particularly in complex engineering designs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and interpret project specifications and execution requirements to prepare key project documents and issue documents.
• Follow up on comments on project documents and manage their closure.
• Coordinate the flow of design inputs, outputs, and deliverables among disciplines, clients, engineering subcontractors, and classification societies.
• Assist in preparing the Master Design Review (MDR) with the Hull & Marine Engineering Manager, Topsides Engineering Manager, and Discipline Leads.
• Coordinate the preparation of the engineering schedule with the Hull & Marine Engineering Manager, Topsides Engineering Manager, and Discipline Leads.
• Participate in relevant project meetings, draft minutes of meetings, and follow up on action items.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, engineering subcontractors, classification societies, and cross-functional teams to coordinate the project plan and handle technical issues to meet the project schedule.
• Support Engineering Managers in ensuring design reviews are conducted with appropriate attendees and managing the action register to monitor the close-out of identified action items.
• Manage and follow up on design change management actions.
• Prepare and issue project progress and status reports on a weekly and monthly basis, and follow up on action items from these reports.
• Work closely with the document officer to develop and manage the document management process for the project, and support the document officer in managing the flow of documents among disciplines, clients, engineering subcontractors, classification societies, and vendors.
• Coordinate activities for lessons learned, project audits, and other initiatives, follow up on action items, and provide solutions and proposals to improve work efficiency.

Requirements

• Preferably 8 years of relevant experience or similar activities.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree.
