About the role

The Project Engineer (PE) plays a crucial role in managing and executing engineering projects for flight simulator programs. This position involves leading and coordinating Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering content.

Responsibilities

• Manage large, complex project initiatives involving large cross-functional teams
• Lead/participate in program peer & gate reviews, PMRs, and coordinate technical activity among IPTs
• Conduct weekly/monthly Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews with IPTs and ensure technical, cost, and schedule performance
• Communicate internally and externally, including with customers or vendors
• Receive engineering direction from and be accountable to a Directorate Chief Engineer (DCE)
• Implement strategic goals established by leadership

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences
• 8+ years of USG/DoD development program experience
• 3+ years of Engineering Lead experience in USG/DoD development programs
• 3+ years of experience with IBM/Rational or Atlassian development and collaboration tools, DOORS, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Microsoft Project

Preferred Skills

• Advanced Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience within the training and simulation industry
• 3+ years of experience performing as liaison between program management, engineering management, and technical disciplines involved in a project
• 3+ years of experience performing as primary technical interface with USG/DoD customers

Physical Demands

• Sit for long periods at a desk
• Travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane
• Climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator
