About the role
The Project Engineer (PE) plays a crucial role in managing and executing engineering projects for flight simulator programs. This position involves leading and coordinating Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering content.
Responsibilities
- Manage large, complex project initiatives involving large cross-functional teams
- Lead/participate in program peer & gate reviews, PMRs, and coordinate technical activity among IPTs
- Conduct weekly/monthly Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews with IPTs and ensure technical, cost, and schedule performance
- Communicate internally and externally, including with customers or vendors
- Receive engineering direction from and be accountable to a Directorate Chief Engineer (DCE)
- Implement strategic goals established by leadership
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences
- 8+ years of USG/DoD development program experience
- 3+ years of Engineering Lead experience in USG/DoD development programs
- 3+ years of experience with IBM/Rational or Atlassian development and collaboration tools, DOORS, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Microsoft Project

Preferred Skills
- Advanced Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience within the training and simulation industry
- 3+ years of experience performing as liaison between program management, engineering management, and technical disciplines involved in a project
- 3+ years of experience performing as primary technical interface with USG/DoD customers
Physical Demands
- Sit for long periods at a desk
- Travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane
- Climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator
