About the role
The Project Engineer Diver position at Marine Solutions is responsible for performing a variety of engineering duties including field inspection, material testing, evaluation, analysis, design, and technical document preparation under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
Responsibilities
- Performs field inspection and evaluation of structures under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Performs testing of materials and incorporates results into reports under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Prepares comprehensive engineering documents including inspection reports, design plans, and specifications under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Participates in internal project meetings and actively resolves project issues.
- Promotes a safe work culture.
Requirements
- Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in area of practice.
- Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and office software and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language.
- Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil, structural or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- 0-4 years of engineering experience.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- ADCI Commercial Diver or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
Skills
- Knowledge of applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and internal procedures and standards.
- Experience with computer-assisted engineering and office software and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
