Project Engineer - Construction

Responsibilities

  • Aid in managing the project budget and developing scenarios to meet that budget
  • Coordinate up to $5 million per year of subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Create and track submittals, transmittals, requests for information, and shop drawing logs
  • Ensure materials are delivered on time and comply with project drawings and specifications
  • Maintain quality control and safety programs to ensure adherence to approved plans
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Generate work plans and document job site activities, including progress pictures
  • Assist with estimating and reviewing subcontractor quotes for accuracy
  • Take notes on conversations, file correspondence, and assist in report preparation
  • Coordinate closeout procedures including O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties, keys, and extra materials
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Have previous relevant experience in construction management
  • Be willing and able to relocate to Ross Group offices or project sites, typically located throughout the South and Midwest
  • Show dependability in meeting attendance guidelines, following instructions, and responding promptly
  • Prove a history of reliability in managing priorities and achieving project goals
  • Display flexibility, organization, and attention to detail, using efficient time management to meet deadlines and schedules
  • Make timely decisions with sound judgment, keeping appropriate people informed in the process
  • Have a working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Primavera
  • Continuously improve job knowledge, using resources effectively, and demonstrating the ability to learn and apply new skills

Qualifications

  • Physically capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions, standing, climbing, bending, and stooping occasionally
  • Capable of using visual and auditory skills
