Project Engineer - Commercial Drywall

About the role

Piedmont Plaster & Drywall (PPD) in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Project Engineer to help manage project schedules, budgets, and resources while maintaining safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Read and apply construction plans and specifications
• Maintain project safety and compliance
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers
• Report progress to the project leader

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering
• 5 years of commercial construction experience (metal framing, drywall, and related specialty construction is a plus)
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check

Skills

• Knowledge of building materials, methods, and tools
• Proficiency in math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry)
• Blueprint reading skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Tech-savvy (Procore knowledge is a plus)
• Safety-focused (CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30 certifications are a plus)
