Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

About the role

Support field and office operations by partnering with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure quality project delivery. This role offers hands-on responsibility with a clear path for growth into future leadership.

Responsibilities

• Cook up project planning, integration, and completion of assigned scopes
• Prepare and manage contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and material procurement
• Lead on-site engineering activities and maintain liaison with design teams and clients
• Attend project meetings and support owner meetings with project management
• Aid in preparing project status reports and closeout documentation
• Review design documents for compliance with engineering and contract requirements
• Monitor technical progress, testing, and resolution of design and construction issues
• Track and manage costs to ensure alignment with project budgets
• Promote and support site safety efforts through personal actions and team mentorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or construction certificate program
• 3–5 years of relevant construction experience
• Solid understanding of construction processes, documentation, and safety standards
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with scheduling and project management tools
• Able to read and interpret plans, specs, and submittals
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable handling confidential information
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and accountability for meeting deadlines
