About the role
Toole Design Group in Minneapolis, MN is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Project Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts.
- Use programs such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation in order to fulfill production work on your projects.
- Manage tasks on projects from concept development, design review, bid package development, permitting, and construction management.
- Help develop construction documents; work with your team to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.
- Assist in the creation of signing and pavement marking plans, maintenance of traffic, and traffic signal plans for roadway projects and streetscapes in urban settings.
- Use state of the art tools and practices to help create sustainable multimodal transportation networks.
- Work on a wide spectrum of projects that inform your design work, including road diet analyses, multimodal traffic studies for new development, roundabout studies, trail/roadway intersection studies and designs, and parking studies and design guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering
- Professional Engineering license preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- A growing knowledge base in civil engineering (transportation focus)
- Gaining understanding of basic geometric design principles of roadways and industry roadway design standards
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation (including InRoads and/or OpenRoads), AutoCAD (including Civil 3D)
- Experience coordinating utility, right-of-way, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscape and hardscape layout
- Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
- Interest in multimodal and active transportation design

Schedule
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to 2 days per week.
The office is conveniently located downtown at 212 3rd Avenue N, near to the Mississippi River and Cedar Lake bike trail systems and walking distance from Metro Blue, Green, Orange, and C line Stations. The office is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.
