Project Engineer - Capital Projects

Responsibilities

• Support execution of capital projects across the full project lifecycle (concept through commissioning)
• Cook up with design teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project scope and schedule
• Aid in developing and managing project documentation, including: Scope of Work (SOW), Technical specifications, Change controls and RFIs
• Track and report on project schedules, budgets, and key milestones
• Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities (CQV)
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Support procurement activities, including bid evaluations and vendor selection
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Quality, EHS) to ensure seamless project integration
• Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline)
• 3–8+ years of experience supporting capital projects in a regulated industry
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments strongly preferred
• Familiarity with: GMP environments, Project delivery methodologies (e.g., stage-gate, EPCM), Commissioning and qualification (CQV) processes
• Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to interface across multiple stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting facility expansions, utilities, or process equipment installations
• Exposure to cleanroom environments and regulated manufacturing spaces
• Knowledge of project controls tools (scheduling, cost tracking)
• Previous experience in a client-side or embedded OTS/staff augmentation role
