About the role
Walton & Company is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join their growing Construction team. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers while gaining hands-on experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Aid in project planning, coordination, and execution
- Support project startup activities such as contract review, project setup, and document management
- Coordinate communication between field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal departments
- Attend project meetings and document meeting minutes and action items
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Aid in equipment and material procurement
- Obtain vendor quotations and coordinate purchasing activities
- Process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documentation
- Maintain project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
- Support jobsite visits to assist field operations and monitor project progress
- Resolve project issues and maintain positive customer relationships
- Promote Walton's commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional customer service
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered
- 0–3 years of construction, project coordination, or engineering experience preferred
- Internship or co-op experience in commercial construction, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or engineering environments is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
