Project Engineer
About the role
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor project timelines and deliverables. Co-ordinate project activities with all related departments/suppliers and communicate progress to customers and UIC Management. Procure cost and lead times from vendors for related products and make purchase orders accordingly. Ensure yearly budget restraints are maintained and propose new purchases when necessary. Assist with product development and communication with USUI Japan R&D, Sales/Manufacturing/Quality. Make work instructions and implement training to supervisor/operators for new projects. Enter new parts information as directed in the UIC ERP (PLEX) system for production and prototype parts. Make or arrange prototype parts. Packaging study and proposal to customer.

- Aid with product development and communication with USUI Japan R&D, Sales/Manufacturing/Quality.

Qualifications
- BS/BE in Engineering or related field (required).
- Previous project experience (at least 2-3 years) in research and manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Experience working with automotive OEMs, and PPAP, Run at Rate.
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
- Drawing review experience and knowledge of GD & TK.
- Knowledge and execution experience of Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plan.
- Ability to identify root cause of a problem, develop corrective action and lead the team resolution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Inside/warehouse conditions from 65-85 degrees F.
- Long durations of standing/bending.
- Long durations of arms and hands.
- Able to lift, move and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Required use of PPE equipment (provided) - may include hearing protection.
