Cowtown Materials, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in Fort Worth, TX (Garden Acres).
Responsibilities
- Identify potential jobs and customers, build relationships, and close bid work.
- Collaborate with the general line sales team to close jobs.
- Facilitate leads through General Contractors, End Users, and Institutions.
- Review specifications to inform management of market conditions and improve the door division.
- Prepare submittals and shop drawings for approval by the owner and architect.
- Perform site visits to oversee work and advise field personnel on proper construction procedures.
- Investigate damages, accidents, or material losses and work with insurance and vendors to mitigate schedule delays.
- Prepare and submit specialty product proposals for sales staff and customers, including take-offs and cost estimation.
- Prepare conceptual cost estimates, value engineering reports, budgetary, and feasibility estimates for pre-construction processes.
- Manage closed project work from order through installation, acting as a liaison between vendors, purchasers, sales, and contractors to ensure quality installation and increase company sales/margin dollars on specialty ceiling products.
- 10% domestic travel required for training, occasional site visits (1-2 days), and visiting other offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 18 months of experience in Project Management or Estimating.
- 18 months of experience with building and construction industry and business practices.
- 18 months of experience with drawings, specifications, and blueprint plans.
- 18 months of experience with CAD and Revit – Computer Aided Design Software.
- 12 months of experience in Sales and Marketing within the building industry.
- 12 months of experience in Cost Estimation.
- 12 months of experience with Quantity Take-off.
- 12 months of experience with Bluebeam – Quantity Take-off Software or similar.
- 12 months of experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) – Quantity Take-off Software.
- 12 months of experience with Dodge Data, ISqft, Construct Connect – Bidding Platforms.
