Project Engineer
Job Summary
The Project Engineer supports project manager(s) and collaboratively works with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support mechanical service and construction activities. Responsibilities include building customer relationships, estimating costs, preparing documentation, managing procurement, and coordinating quality assurance and safety measures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, peers, supervisors, administrative staff, field craft workers, field supervision, vendors, and subcontractors
- Estimate, budget, and control labor and material costs
- Understand project plans, specifications, and schedules
- Prepare timely, accurate, and complete project documentation, including RFI's, submittals, schedule updates, time records, supplemental work orders, change order pricing, and general project correspondence
- Coordinate, schedule, and support procurement activities, such as commodity materials, consumables, necessary tools and equipment, major equipment packages, and subcontracts
- Document and track procurement efforts
- Conduct and document quality assurance, safety, and subcontract work
Qualifications
- 1-3 years related experience in construction industry preferred
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor of Science Degree with a Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management focus OR pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management focus
- Experience at the advanced level using Accubid, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with local municipal jurisdictional procedures with regard to plan reviews, permitting, applicable codes, inspections, etc.
Compensation
Compensation Range: Minimum $65,000 maximum $75,000
Other Compensation: eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
