Project Engineer

Project Engineers collaborate with Field Application Engineers to develop proposals, design material handling systems, and manage projects. This role offers a high level of responsibility and autonomy, working with cutting-edge technologies such as conveyors, robotics, mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles, and AGVs in the evolving material handling field.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on system design, site supervision, troubleshooting, and project management
• Maintain project budget, schedule, and implementation plan
• Assist with AutoCAD drawings, quotes, spare parts orders, and general design tasks
• Improve project execution processes (e.g., Gantt charts, continuous improvement initiatives)
• Resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
• Support site installation, including material inventory, schedule tracking, and subcontractor supervision
• Work directly with Field Application Engineers to ensure smooth project transitions
• Develop an in-depth understanding of material handling equipment, suppliers, and applications
• Communicate project or schedule changes to all stakeholders and subcontractors
• Provide customer support for ongoing and warranty projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems preferred)
• 2+ years of experience; automated material handling experience preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Excellent technical problem-solving capability (hardware, controls)
• Strong scheduling and organizational skills
• Willing and transparent communicator
• Team player with a customer-focused mindset
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship
• Adhere to information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report suspected security incidents

Travel

20% overnight travel (travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics).

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience.
