About the Role
You will serve as the technical engine of our project delivery team, translating complex engineering data into flawless field execution. This role offers the autonomy to manage submittals, budgets, and QA/QC workflows while receiving direct mentorship from experienced Project Managers. You will be part of a culture that actively promotes from within and values your personal contributions to high-stakes infrastructure builds.
Responsibilities
- Cook up all technical submittals, shop drawings, and procurement timelines to keep field operations moving forward smoothly.
- Monitor strict adherence to project plans, specifications, building codes, and company QA/QC policies.
- Collaborate with Superintendents to establish accurate monthly profit projections and optimize heavy civil resource utilization.
- Formulate precise change order estimates and process requests for information (RFIs) to prevent project delays.
- Track project timelines using Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques to ensure delivery stays on or ahead of schedule.
- Enforce company safety policies on site to maintain a standard of zero reportable incidents across your assigned projects.
- Act as a vital communication bridge between Project Managers, field crews, sub-contractors, and engineering stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent structural construction experience.
- Proven technical experience functioning as a Project Engineer or in a closely related heavy civil construction role.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and build accurately according to complex civil drawings and job specifications.
- Deep familiarity with interpreting project financials, budget variances, and material procurement workflows.
- Absolute willingness to travel up to 30% of working hours to various regional project sites.
Qualifications
- Approximately 5 years of related work experience within heavy civil, utility, or industrial infrastructure construction.
- Demonstrated experience using advanced Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling software and tracking project timelines.
- Prior experience mentoring junior team members or project engineers in a fast-paced field environment.
