About the role
This temporary, onsite assignment is based in Libert, NC and supports a prominent global automotive manufacturer during a new-model launch. You will collaborate with engineers, project-management groups, construction teams, purchasing, and other divisions to achieve project milestones.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact point for internal groups and coordinate directly with the client’s Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC).
- Coordinate new-model launch activities across multiple domestic and international divisions throughout every phase of vehicle development up to start of production.
- Problem-solve issues that could impact successful project or launch execution, leading cross-departmental efforts to apply countermeasures and prevent recurrence.
- Define and report overall project KPIs and milestones using the Battery Master Operation Plan (OP); establish standard reporting structures and outputs.
- Lead project and trial Obeyas.
- Contribute to department and job-way standardization by reflecting feedback into the Master OP, developing detailed job instructions, and creating countermeasures for “No Repeat.”
- Support construction activities: coordinate building-preparation milestones, installation kickoffs, construction Obeyas, and liaise with the Facilities projects team.
- Support pre-production trial activities: coordinate trial-parts orders, schedule creation, and KPI setting/management.
- Complete internal and external training as required.
- Handle ad-hoc requests and cross-functional projects such as budget, asset management, shutdowns, and other company initiatives.
This role demands the ability to multi-task across conflicting deadlines and priorities while communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. Specific tasks may shift to meet overall project needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in a project-related role.
- Project-management experience with capital investments exceeding $0.5 M.
- Experience setting, managing, visualizing, and reporting KPIs, including presenting data-driven recommendations to senior/executive leadership.
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed schedules and milestone-tracking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10 % (international travel not currently planned).
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods (e.g., July and December) as needed.
- Ability to support occasional evening meetings with Japan based on project schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Client/supplier management experience.
- Battery or automotive manufacturing background.
- 3-Pillar management or execution experience.
- Understanding and execution of Gated Management or BRAD milestones.
- Experience with client Business Practices (TBP) problem-solving.
- Familiarity with client planning processes, specifications, and product development.
Pay
$66.52/hour.
Schedule
- 12-month temporary assignment.
- Onsite in Libert, NC; shift hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
