Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans, define scope, set timelines, and allocate resources.
• Manage project costs, track expenses, and ensure adherence to the budget.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to plan and execute projects effectively.
• Cover subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Aid in technical problem-solving in the field; provide engineering support throughout a project lifecycle.
• Help enforce safety protocols and conduct site safety audits in coordination with the safety department.
• Help maintain positive relationships by addressing concerns and providing updates.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in a Construction Management or Engineering role or successful completion of an internship with construction firm supported by references.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Local and regional travel as required for projects.
• Focus, stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, and work from heights or within confined space during assigned shift.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds of materials over rough terrain.
• Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record.
• Follow all safety procedures, use proper protective equipment, and help maintain a safe job site by identifying and reporting potential hazards.
