Project Engineer
About the role
This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies. The objective is to educate the employees in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.
Responsibilities
- Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
- Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
- Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
- Absorb Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
- Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
- Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
- Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
- Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
- Possess strong knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
- Experience in Construction Management Software (i.e. Procore).
- Design-build commercial construction experience.
- 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The salary range is $75,000 - 85,000.00 annually. The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
Schedule
Position may require some travel to project sites.
