Project Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding of warehousing, material storage, and material handling including the various types of storage racking and equipment for moving material
- Develop storage design concepts based on customer operational requirements and data
- Work with the Sales Team and customers to develop solutions
- Create and submit 2D and possibly 3D CAD drawings to support the sales process
- Support the project management team with engineering and vendor communications
- Work within a teamwork oriented and collaborative environment
- Maintain quality standards across all areas of responsibility
- Show high attention to detail, solid organization, and planning skills
- Understand industrial engineering work methods and related materials handling equipment
- Aid customers in defining initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity and/or space savings
- Occasionally attend conferences, meetings, vendor seminars and training to stay current in the material handling equipment technologies industry and evaluate whether new concepts are applicable to our customers
- Follow departmental and company procedures
- Knowledge of 3rd party procurement including development of RFPs/RFQs, bid review and assessment, and contract award in cooperation with purchasing resources is a plus

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and managers in other departments
- Willingness to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willingness to assume more responsibility as required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
- Ability to perform rack design & layout to include Selective, Deep Reach, Push Back, Cantilever, Pallet Flow, Carton Flow and Shelving
- Ability to perform design and layout for related products to include, but not limited to the following: Mezzanine, Wire Guidance & Shelving
- Familiarity with seismic design requirements, high pile, code, permitting and costing
- Possession of knowledge and understanding of application requirements for Narrow Aisle, Very Narrow Aisle, Counterbalance, and IC Forklifts
- Ability to scale and completely take off of existing facilities as requested
- Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision but respond to rapidly varying requirements
- Drive and initiative, maintain records of activities
- Willingness to comply with Employee Handbook
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility
- Ability to perform independently, and as part of a team with Sales Representatives, suppliers, installers, and clients
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Valid, unrestricted driver license with no more than allowable number of points on record
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Education/Experience
- Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering or equivalent is required
- Must have experience with AutoCAD

Pay Range
The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $120,000. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
