About the role
As a Project Engineer, you will track and analyze cost data, ensuring our projects stay on budget. Your expertise in resource monitoring and control, combined with your construction knowledge, will keep our projects running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment, and resources.
- Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data.
- Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
- Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
- Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
- Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
- Prepare and manage a three-week work plan.
- Notify engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
- Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
- Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
- Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
- Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all construction personnel.
- Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule, and crews as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 5+ years construction engineering experience.
- Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e., cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems, and/or structures preferred.
- Specialized, technical knowledge of design-build or other alternative build techniques.
- Able to delegate and assign work to engineering team to progress project production forward.
- Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
- Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
- Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods, and cost coding.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.

Pay
Salary range: USD $110,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year.
