Responsibilities
- Track and Monitor SQD Part Milestones
- Oversee all Supplier Quality Development (SQD) part milestones, including audits, Part Risk Assessments (PRAs), PPAP element completion, and problem resolution activities.
- Manage Part Categories
- Coordinate and support processes for Make-to-Buy parts, Buy-to-Buy parts, New Product Introduction (NPI), and problem parts to ensure timely execution and compliance.
- Maintain and Streamline Processes
- Continuously improve and manage the PRA and PPAP processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Documentation Compliance
- Ensure all required documentation for each component is completed, verified, and properly stored.
- Assign Risk Assessments
- Allocate Part Risk Assessments to Manufacturing Engineers (MEs) based on supplier ownership and ME skillsets.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive ongoing improvements in PRA and PPAP processes to meet evolving business and quality standards.
- Supplier Support
- Provide hands-on support to suppliers as needed to resolve issues and maintain production schedules.
- Perform ME Tasks as Backup
- Execute Manufacturing Engineering tasks when assigned ME is unavailable due to vacation or workload constraints.
- Root Cause Analysis
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to resolve quality or process issues.
- PPAP Coaching and Execution
- Guide and assist in PPAP element execution and provide coaching to team members as required.
- Communication and Reporting
- Deliver SQD updates to SCPMs and other departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Field plus 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience, along with 2 years Project Management experience
Qualifications
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Leadership Without Authority: Skilled at facilitating results through collaboration without direct supervisory control.
- Manufacturing Expertise: Deep understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and process qualification.
- Quality Tools: Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, and Part Risk Assessments.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills using Six Sigma and Shainin Red-X methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Unigraphics.
- Intermediate proficiency in Minitab for statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
