Project Engineer
Description
Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals
Promotes and participates in the Company safety program and procedures
Assist both the Project Manager & Superintendent as required to efficiently complete assigned projects
Train and mentor junior staff
Maintain overall good relationships with clients and/or public officials
Daily operation of field office
Maintain project documentation
Assists in procurement of material and subcontractors; includes performing take-offs, completion of in-house requisition forms, preparation of bid packages and defining scopes of work
Generates and updates purchase order and subcontractor logs
Reviews and prepares submittals, maintain a submittal log and monitors to ensure each submittal receives timely review
Attends project meetings as directed by the Project Manager. Prepares and distributes associated meeting minutes
Ensures all completed work complies with acceptable codes, drawings, and specifications
Conducts constructability reviews and value engineering functions
Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, purchasing, etc.
Interprets designs and drawings, research and recommends solutions to drawing interpretation, problems, conflicts, and errors
Issues Requests for Information (RFI's) to appropriate parties; maintains the RFI log and monitors it for timely responses
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management in the construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with project documentation and compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations and codes
