Project Engineer

Our client is a growing General Contractor in Ohio, expanding their K-12 Education project team. They are committed to employee success and seek a strong Project Manager to grow with their resources and expertise.

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead or assist in the following areas:

• Providing project leadership and establishing a proactive project safety culture
• Managing the development and review of bid packages to procure competitive subcontract proposals
• Conducting job-site subcontractor meetings to ensure project goals are met
• Reviewing monthly invoices and overseeing documentation for timely project funding
• Leading cost reporting, including contracts, purchase orders, and scope revisions to achieve project goals
• Ensuring the overall financial health of the project and maintaining project forecasts
• Representing the client in subcontract negotiations

Requirements

• 1+ years of commercial construction experience
• Prior experience working on K-12 Education projects
• Working knowledge of construction technology and details
• Construction Management degree or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in reviewing and understanding construction documents, including specifications and drawings
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients
• Working knowledge of skilled trades: carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical
