Project Engineer
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to become the key Site Civil presence in Indianapolis. The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary organisation with significant internal project demand and backlog, helping support site civil engineering needs across a variety of project sectors.
Unlike many traditional Land Development opportunities, this role is not solely focused on residential subdivisions. The work includes roadway design, drainage, grading, utilities, and civil site development projects that support a wide range of commercial, institutional, public, and multidisciplinary developments.
The role offers significant long-term growth potential, including the opportunity to help build and lead a Site Civil team in the Midwest as the practice continues to expand.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Site Civil and Land Development projects throughout Indiana and the Midwest.
- Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, utility, and roadway design plans.
- Collaborate closely with Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Transportation, and other internal disciplines.
- Support existing internal project demand and backlog across multiple business units.
- Coordinate technical deliverables and project execution.
- Participate in client-facing activities and relationship management where appropriate.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Site Civil practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence required.
- Ideally 6-15+ years of Site Civil, Land Development, Grading, Drainage, Roadway, or Utility Design experience.
- Experience working on commercial, institutional, municipal, mixed-use, transportation, or public-sector projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage design, utility coordination, and civil site development.
- Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines.
- Business development experience is beneficial but not required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
