Project Engineer

Kent is looking for a Project Engineer to support a portfolio group of projects in Deer Park, TX. The role involves coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and providing progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan.

• Supports the management of the interfaces between engineering offices, engineering disciplines, project controls, procurement and third-party contractors or suppliers.
• Coordinates the interfaces between the Engineering team and the Project Management team and ensures effective transfer of information between the two.
• Participates in the planning and scheduling of the scope of Engineering for the project and provides inputs to the project technical document register.
• Maintains the engineering progress, addresses shortfalls, assists in developing recovery plans where required and ensures plans are implemented.
• Provides feedback to Direct Supervisor and engineering discipline supervisors as and when required on the progress.
• Attends project review meetings and ensures that associated reports are compiled and distributed accordingly.
• Ensures that interface issues between disciplines are addressed and seeks management advice and assistance where required.
• Assists in the production of the project execution plan and prepares the coordination procedures for the project.
• Monitors the engineering progress and implements corrective action with assistance from Direct Supervisor, as and when variations from plans occur.
• Formulates resolutions to technically challenging and/or high-profile issues with support from Engineering/Project services personnel and resolves with Project Management and Client.
• Coordinates the production of the engineering deliverables for an area of a project or a small project/study, in accordance with the plan.
• Coordinates input from multiple offices, engineering disciplines, procurement, project controls and third parties.
• Decides on general resource requirements, general technical issues between disciplines, and day-to-day corrective action to maintain progress in accordance with the plan.
• Works independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification: Degree in Engineering for an accredited College or University, or related experience 3-5 yrs working for an Engineering/Client organization in the Oil and Gas Industry and/or Low Carbon.
• Experience: Experience of FEED/Detailed Design and EPC projects. Related experience working for Engineering/Client organizations in the Oil and Gas Industry and/or Low Carbon Energy Transition industry.
