About the role

The Project Engineer facilitates project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management, and communication through effective day-to-day coordination of projects. Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members, including clients, to support project success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks to generate future sales opportunities.
  • Create and maintain internal and external project logs as necessary.
  • Maintain internal and external reports as required.
  • Assist Project Manager(s) with updating project tasks in software systems, including processing Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, Drawing Logs, and other management tools.
  • Ensure proper bid documents are sent to bidders for various bid packages; build and maintain the bidders list.
  • Maintain current construction documents.
  • Receive and act on RFIs from contractors.
  • Review and process submittals; maintain submittal log.
  • Support day-to-day project management, including responding to pay requests, change orders, RFIs, submittals, contracts, purchase orders, and closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site experience managing new construction and renovation of existing assets.
  • Basic MEP knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • LEED AP preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

The role requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in both office and field environments, including:

  • Walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, and twisting.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling moderate amounts of weight (up to 50 lbs without assistance; greater than 50 lbs with assistance).
  • Operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
  • Verbal communication to exchange information.

Work is performed primarily in an outdoor setting with exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions, including travel from site to site.

Vision: Must see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Must hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
