About the role

The Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for all on-site project administration and for management of the office engineers and jobsite administrator. Essential duties include assisting the project manager and superintendents, managing project finances, scheduling, and coordinating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Accumulate all necessary data and prepare the monthly owner pay applications.
  • Discover and resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners, as well as among trade partners.
  • Assist the company's field supervisors on interpretation of drawings, specifications, RFIs, and questions for and from the architect/engineer.
  • Develop/manage the cost control and labor recap in conjunction with the project manager and project superintendent.
  • Process and estimate all potential change orders and requests for information.
  • Assist in development and management of the project schedule.
  • Aid in engineering details and special design.
  • Track and report on the progress of the project.
  • Aid in production analysis studies.
  • Manage, train, and mentor the office engineers and the jobsite administrator.

Requirements

  • A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.
  • Past internships in the construction industry preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proficient use of project management tools and software.
  • An extraordinary level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate with owners, suppliers, and trade partners.
  • Knowledge of BIM and VDC specifications.

Skills

  • Direct Compensation: Base Salary Range: $84,360 - $93,240, Annually.
  • Cell Phone Reimbursement: $900.00, Annually.
  • Vehicle Allowance: $8,400.00, Annually.
  • Performance Bonus: 0-10% of base salary, Annually.
  • Total Direct Compensation Range: $93,660.00 - $102,540.00, Annually.

Pay

$84,360 - $93,240 annually.

Schedule

Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity. Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration. Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas. The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen. Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements. Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights. Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures Frequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
