Project Engineer

About the role

The Central US Water business at GHD is seeking a Project Engineer with expertise in water and wastewater conveyance systems to support and/or lead the design of complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Project engineer for planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater conveyance projects, including but not limited to pipelines, force mains, gravity sewers, and pump stations.
• Cook with permitting agencies, contractors, internal technical teams, and clients as necessary.
• Prepare engineering reports, design documents, specifications, and cost estimates, as needed.
• Support permitting and environmental documentation processes.
• Conduct work to appropriate professional standards and to the firm’s QA/QC requirements.
• Participate in QA/QC programs for other projects as requested by managers.
• Support proposal development efforts for new business.
• Support relationships with existing and prospective clients; this includes business development, sales and marketing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in environmental or civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Missouri or ability to acquire upon six months of hiring date.
• 5+ years of water/wastewater design experience in municipal water, water resource, and/or conveyance projects;
• Experience in water and wastewater conveyance and pump station.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of attention to detail, schedule and budget.
• Strong technical writing skills.
