Project Engineer
About the role
The Central US Water business at GHD is growing and we are seeking a Project Engineer with expertise in water and wastewater conveyance systems. This role involves supporting and leading the design of complex infrastructure projects such as pipelines, force mains, gravity sewers, and pump stations. You will coordinate with permitting agencies, contractors, internal technical teams, and clients, prepare engineering reports, design documents, specifications, and cost estimates, support permitting and environmental documentation processes, and participate in quality assurance and quality control programs.
Responsibilities
- Project engineer for planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater conveyance projects, including but not limited to pipelines, force mains, gravity sewers, and pump stations.
- Cook up coordination with permitting agencies, contractors, internal technical teams, and clients as necessary.
- Prepare engineering reports, design documents, specifications, and cost estimates, as needed.
- Support permitting and environmental documentation processes.
- Conduct work to appropriate professional standards and to the firm’s QA/QC requirements.
- Participate in QA/QC programs for other projects as requested by managers.
- Support proposal development efforts for new business.
- Build credible relationships with clients, teaming partners, and the community.
- Work with an energetic and high performing team, offering a variety of work and involvement in project management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in environmental or civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer license in Missouri or ability to acquire within six months of hiring date.
- 5+ years of water/wastewater design experience in municipal water, water resource, and/or conveyance projects.
- Experience in water and wastewater conveyance and pump station.
- Able to maintain a high degree of attention to detail, schedule, and budget.
- Strong ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner.
- Strong technical writing skills.
