About The Role
Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene is seeking a Project Engineer for our paper mill in Menasha, WI. In this role, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and take ownership of a wide variety of capital projects across the facility. This position requires a strong presence on the floor, collaborating directly with machine operators to investigate issues and gather data for successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage capital projects from justification and capital requests to final execution.
- Handle a diverse project scope, ranging from small safety improvements to large machine rebuilds and new equipment installations.
- Manage large breakdown repairs to keep the mill running safely and efficiently.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within the confirmed Capex financial plan.
- Provide practical mechanical engineering support to Operations Engineers to solve recurring issues.
- Act as a role model for safety, ensuring compliance with all health, fire prevention, and environmental regulations.
- Meet or exceed Hygiene Manufacturing Excellence project requirements.
- Define standards for new projects, including product specifications, validation routines, and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for specialized manufacturing programs across the facility.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred, but significant project management experience may be considered in its place.
- At least seven years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
- A minimum of five years of direct project management experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment, including managing large capital projects.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to effectively manage projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing or World Class Manufacturing principles is a plus.
