General Responsibilities
Aid the Project Manager in monthly cost estimation.
Communicate effectively with the entire project team, both internal and external.
Maintain open communication channels with all stakeholders.
Follow up to ensure accountability for tasks assigned.
Earn and maintain the customer's trust.
Work collaboratively to support the organization's mission.
Collaborate with the project team to establish the job.
Collaborate with the project team to prepare an information sheet and map to the job site.
Specific Responsibilities
- Train field engineers in the role of a project engineer.
- Engage and assist in developing new Encore standards and processes.
- Hold others accountable to these standards and processes.
- Participate in Project Engineer meetings.
- Assist the Project Manager with change estimates.
- Help the project team assign labor cost codes for the project.
- Work with the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager to write commodity purchase orders from the installation estimate.
- Ensure all parties involved apply their time correctly for timekeeping.
- Take responsibility for submittals and assist in their creation and procurement of materials.
- Coordinate and maintain relationships with all project stakeholders.
- Ensure proper maintenance of construction documents.
- Actively participate in required meetings.
- Obtain the proper permits for the job location.
- Understand the permitting process and wiring methods in different jurisdictions.
- Responsible for project closeout documentation.
- Involves the service department before completion to maintain the relationship with the owner.
- Afford assistance in closing out the job with vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the construction process from scheduling to manpower to labor, materials, and equipment required for installation.
- Understanding of constructability and the construction process.
- Skills in algebra and geometry, statistics, and financial math.
- Ability to act as a self-starter, organize work effectively, and identify scope gaps in construction documents.
- Customer management, listening, speaking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to retain and access critical information from memory, conceptualize and visualize the project, think on one's feet, and see things from multiple perspectives.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with all ENCORE Support Services.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a Journeyman’s License with five years of progressive experience in the electrical trade, is preferred.
