Position Summary
Crescent Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support water and wastewater construction projects through planning, coordination, documentation, and field execution activities. This position works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and contract requirements. The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting day-to-day project operations and maintaining effective communication between office and field teams.
What You’ll Do
- Aid project management teams with planning and coordination of water and wastewater construction projects
- Support project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking activities
- Coordinate and review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and project documentation
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with quantity tracking and reporting
- Absorb procurement and coordination of subcontractors, materials, and equipment
- Participate in project meetings, including owner meetings, progress meetings, and safety meetings
- Maintain accurate project records, daily reports, and document control systems
- Absorb change order preparation, pricing, and tracking
- Monitor project progress and support implementation of corrective actions as needed
- Absorb quality control and ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Perform field walks and coordinate with superintendents and field personnel to verify progress and address project needs
- Absorb project closeout activities, including punch lists and As-Built documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 4+ years of construction experience, preferably in heavy civil, water, or wastewater projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred
- Understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure construction, including treatment plants, pump stations, and underground utilities preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong prioritization and time management abilities; detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
- Experience with project management, scheduling, or cost control software preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team
- Must be capable, licensed, and approved to drive a company vehicle to work sites, offices, and other required locations
- Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and work in active construction environments
