Project Engineer
About the role
Project coordination — Maintain continuous communication with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to ensure alignment throughout the project.
Technical design — Develop piping layouts, system drawings, and component specifications; ensure compliance with NFPA, ASME, CGA, and other applicable codes.
Requirements gathering — Collect and interpret customer specifications, compliance requirements, and project details.
Engineering support — Perform modeling, drafting, and basic stress analysis; support fabrication, welding, and assembly considerations.
Project status reporting — Present updates in cross-functional meetings and respond to technical questions.
Quality and documentation — Ensure all deliverables meet Crane Cryogenics quality standards; complete project reports, expenses, and documentation.
Customer interaction — Provide timely responses, technical explanations, and product demonstrations; support quoting and cost estimation.
Field and site support — Travel to job sites for evaluations, installations, and customer meetings (50–70% domestic and international travel).
Cross-functional collaboration — Work closely with design/engineering to ensure completeness before manufacturing.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field OR 3–5+ years of experience executing large projects in process piping, construction, or mechanical engineering within an industrial, energy, manufacturing, or similar environment.

- Technical Skills — Cryogenic systems knowledge, understanding of cryogenic fluids, piping design, and safety practices; familiarity with NFPA, ASME, CGA, and related standards; working knowledge of welding, soldering, and manufacturing processes.

- Technology & Software Proficiency — Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS, CAD software, engineering modeling tools, and drafting equipment; strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, presentations, and CRM/ERP systems; ability to manage databases, navigate virtual meetings, and work across multiple digital platforms.
Work Environment & Travel
Onsite role based in Jurupa Valley, CA. Up to 50% travel to customer sites, job locations, and industry events (domestic and international).

Pay
Salary range: $81,100 to $110,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
