Responsibilities
- Review part designs, including drafts, side-actions, and shutoffs.
- Understand tooling, mold features, and construction basics to review mold designs.
- Apply medical molding experience, including High-Consistency Rubber, Gum Silicone, and Liquid Silicone molding.
- Utilize thermoplastic and/or thermoset injection molding experience as a plus.
- Implement good manufacturing processes and advanced quality planning (APQP).
- Employ Design of Experiments (DOEs), capability studies, "Steel Safe/Tolerance Safe” concepts, automation concepts, and manage secondary operations.
- Manage multiple projects with sound organization skills and effective timeline management.
- Cook with multiple suppliers and manage project budgets effectively.
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields is used.
Qualifications
- An engineering degree in Mechanical or Plastics.
- Five or more years of experience in plastic manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills to represent the company to customers and suppliers.
- Fundamental computer skills, including business software like Excel and Word, and familiarity with ERP systems, preferably IQMS.
