About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will join a project team responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of your project. You will lead daily coordination between clients, trade partners, engineers, architects, and employees, ensuring accuracy, proper resources, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers in purchasing activities including scoping and take-offs
  • Prepare and forward submittals; confirm submittal complies with plans/specs
  • Support the development and updating of the project schedule and subcontractor detail schedules
  • Play a lead role in the development of project plans
  • Monitor and expedite material deliveries ensuring all deliveries conform with the project schedule
  • Review change proposals from trade partners and negotiate as appropriate
  • Facilitate with the Project Manager and Superintendent in the coordination of drawings
  • Draft change orders; solicit prices from subcontractors and suppliers; perform scope take-off and estimate costs
  • Lead close out of project, including assembling manuals and warranties for turnover to owner and preparation of final payment documents for subcontractors
  • Develop and lead training sessions for your team and trade partners
  • Take ownership of document management applications

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in an engineer, project engineer, or similar role in the construction industry
  • Experience building mission critical/data center projects is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration
  • Demonstrated ability reading drawings and specifications
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest and passion for building and the industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Procore experience
  • Primavera P6 experience
  • Experience working for a general contractor

Work Environment

The role involves both active construction sites and office settings. On construction sites, you can expect:

  • Frequent physical activity, including navigating uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists
  • Moderate to loud noise levels and exposure to various weather conditions
  • Work in elevated or confined areas with moving mechanical equipment
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work

In the office, you may experience prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.

Safety is a top priority; you will be expected to follow Clark Construction's safety policies and procedures at all locations.

Pay

Base salary range: $78,000–$125,000. Compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that includes bonus potential.
