About the role
The Project Engineer at STG Pacific will be onsite at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) to provide technical, administrative, and field-level support to the Construction and Project Management team. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining project documentation, supporting schedule and subcontract administration, and ensuring quality control and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Create, organize, and maintain project records including inspection reports, job diaries, photographs, video logs, and subcontractor documentation.
- Aid in submittal preparation, tracking, and log management, including RFIs, shop drawings, material submittals, and approvals.
- Support Requests for Information (RFI) development, tracking, and response coordination between field teams, design teams, and owners.
- Conduct field inspections and work activity logging as required to support quality control and progress verification.
- Assist with updates to project schedules and progress tracking.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination among all internal team members, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings, including subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and owner meetings as required.
- Support safety documentation and coordination, including daily JHAs, toolbox talks, and incident documentation when needed.
- Perform expediting activities as required to support timely material delivery and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure executed contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders are properly filed and maintained in official project records.
- Support closeout documentation, including as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and turnover packages.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor invoices for proper coding and verify charges against subcontract and purchase order values.
- Perform schedule impact analysis related to delays, material lead times, and subcontractor performance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience of Engineering or Construction Management including similar scopes of work.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience overseeing and managing quality programs with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural features.
- Valid state driver’s license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Company’s Driving Policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), or a related field, is preferred.
- USACE CQM certification preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of engineering concepts and construction-related activities.
- Knowledge of job costing, project controls, and basic accounting procedures.
- Background in administrative and accounting functions supporting construction projects.
- Knowledge of federal construction project documentation requirements, including submittals, RFIs, daily reports, and quality control records.
- Understanding of construction safety practices and military installation safety requirements.
- Ability to work within secure military installations and comply with site access protocols.
- Knowledge of construction-related computer applications including databases, spreadsheets, scheduling software, job costing systems, and standard business applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees through written and verbal methods.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others, including employees, business partners, subcontractors, and customers in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems, and make decisions based on available information using sound judgment and discretion.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan, prioritize, and organize duties to meet deadlines.

- Ability to interpret and communicate project plans, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
